Is a magician right for your event ?

People often like to ask what kind of magic I do and how it stands out; they want to know if it will suit them and their event. And if they will enjoy it themselves, after all, no one wants to spend money on something they later on regret or that they think won't suit their needs.

It's a tricky question to wrap your head around and think about with foresight; I will give you some top tips on what you want to look for when planning your event and if magic is right for that event.

1 How many people are you going to have gathered?

Magic is great for breaking the ice and for giving people a shared experience; realistically, you want at least 15-20 people gathered together to watch and appreciate the magic. If this is the number you're looking a, you want it to be an intimate space where everyone can gather around a table and be involved; you'll only be looking for someone to perform for you for about forty minutes to an hour.

If you have a large number of people, say 50- 150 people or more, gathered, then you are looking more at two hours; what's significant in these situations is gathering everyone around to watch the magic together. You can have a strolling magician walking around your venue and performing to groups of people at a time, breaking the ice and creating a memorable experience for all!

2 Do you want awkward silence?

If you have a lot of people at your event, you want to remove awkward silences. You want everyone to be having fun chatting away and enjoying the event, and the best way o do this is to have a magician on hand who will take that pressure off you as the host. It will ultimately take away that awkward silence and give everyone something to talk about and experience together.

Even after the magician has walked away from the group, they will still be chatting away and will completely forget about that awkward silence now all have common ground to share; whats more is all the credit still falls to you as the host for planning out the day and being the one who booked a magician.

3 Do you want your guests to walk away talking about your event?

A magician is a wild card to most people; the statistic is that most people only meet 2 magicians in their life; you will immediately be piquing people's interest by telling them you have a magician booked for the event. It will be something they a go home and tell stories about as well as something they can share, likewise whenever they talk about the time they met a magician; they also talk about your event and the time they had there; it's a golden way to keep the buzz around your event even long after it's gone.

4 Do you want amazing photos to share after the day?

Nothing gets people talking about your event more than photos; you can get some fantastic pictures of your guests enjoying themselves, laughing and with shocks of amazement on their faces when they are witnessing the impossible right in front of their eyes; you can then post the pictures up on social media as well as upload print out and share the pictures among everyone, you can both see and imagine the look on there faces when he wow moment hits them, and the shock shows across their face!
